Lucknow, Feb 10 (NationPress) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath declared on Tuesday that the Babri mosque will never be reconstructed, a statement likely to provoke protests and discontent among the Opposition.

During a public gathering in Barabanki, UP, Yogi Adityanath emphasized that both the Modi government and his administration have been unwavering in their commitment to fulfill the Ram Mandir promise that the BJP has championed for years.

“The Babri mosque will never be rebuilt for eternity; that day will not arrive,” CM Yogi proclaimed passionately at the rally.

His comments come amid the Babri mosque 2.0 pledge by former Trinamool legislator Humayun Kabir, who has promised to recreate the Babri structure in Murshidabad, West Bengal.

Yogi Adityanath asserted that the Sanatan tradition of India will always be preserved, and those who dream of seeing the Babri structure revived will never prevail.

CM Yogi’s strong stance on such a contentious issue is poised to shape the political landscape in West Bengal, where Assembly elections are forthcoming this year.

The ruling TMC and the opposition BJP are already engaged in a heated confrontation regarding the SIR initiative, with the former labeling it as a ploy by the Centre to disenfranchise their voters, while the latter accuses the TMC of exploiting infiltrators for electoral gain.

MLA Humayun Kabir, who attempted to incite communal sentiments by pledging to construct a replica of the Babri mosque in Bengal’s Murshidabad, was expelled from the TMC. After his dismissal, he laid the foundation stone for a mosque, designed to resemble the Babri Masjid, on December 6, 2025, coinciding with the anniversary of the disputed structure's demolition in Ayodhya.

After leaving the TMC, Kabir established his own party, the Janata Unnayan Party (JUP), and announced intentions to contest approximately 135 Assembly seats in the upcoming elections. The BJP often refers to Kabir as the “B-team” of the ruling party.

Point of View

It's essential to maintain an unbiased perspective. CM Yogi's comments on such a sensitive issue highlight the deep-seated divisions in Indian politics. While his stance resonates with a significant section of the population, it could also exacerbate communal tensions. Therefore, careful monitoring of public sentiment and political developments is crucial.
