New Delhi, Dec 4 (NationPress) The upcoming visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to India today is anticipated to be a crucial meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which could enhance stability and play a pivotal role in shaping the new global order, stated Dr. Ranjeet Mehta, CEO & Secretary General of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) on Thursday.
In an interview with IANS, Dr. Mehta highlighted that this forthcoming dialogue holds substantial significance for both countries and might provide a new impetus for India–Russia economic collaboration.
He pointed out that the meeting possesses the potential to elevate bilateral trade and investment, further solidifying the enduring strategic alliance between the two nations.
“The interaction between Prime Minister Modi and President Putin will bolster stability and the emerging global order,” he informed IANS.
“There are three primary factors that underscore the importance of this meeting. First, the investment prospects for both industries. Second, India and Russia share a robust and time-honored strategic partnership,” Mehta elaborated.
He acknowledged that this visit presents a chance to broaden collaboration beyond conventional sectors.
According to him, industries in both nations could uncover new pathways for partnership as India and Russia seek to diversify their economic interactions.
“This meeting provides an opportunity for diversification across various fields. It also allows for alignment of economic priorities between the two nations and opens doors to explore new ventures, particularly in defense, hydrocarbons, energy security, and pharmaceuticals,” Mehta articulated.
Looking forward, Dr. Mehta mentioned that Russia might consider increasing imports from India, especially in the pharmaceutical sector.
He emphasized that India, recognized as one of the largest generic drug manufacturers and a global pharmacy hub, holds significant potential to enhance its footprint in the Russian market.
“India and Russia enjoy a relationship steeped in stability and a rich history of shared interests,” he remarked to IANS.
“Strengthened trade connections and deeper energy collaboration will facilitate growth for both economies amid an unpredictable and rapidly evolving geopolitical landscape,” Mehta concluded.
