London, Feb 26 (NationPress) Liverpool's head coach Arne Slot has been issued a two-match touchline ban by The Football Association (FA) after receiving a red card following the match against Everton.

The teams faced off in a thrilling 2-2 draw during the final Merseyside Derby at Goodison Park on February 13. Tensions escalated after the match, leading to Slot being shown a red card.

After the final whistle, the Dutch coach was seen conversing with referee Michael Oliver and was subsequently given the red card. In addition to the touchline ban, Slot will also incur a fine of £70,000 from the governing body.

According to the FA, it was reported that the Liverpool head coach behaved improperly and/or used insulting and/or abusive language towards both the match referee and an assistant referee post-match. Arne Slot accepted the charge, and the Regulatory Commission enforced the two-match touchline ban along with the £70,000 fine.

As fans surged onto the field after the final whistle, stewards and police stepped in, resulting in referee Michael Oliver also issuing a red card to assistant head coach Sipke Hulshoff.

Hulshoff will serve the same two-game suspension, although his fine is significantly lower at £7,000.

Reflecting on the incident, Slot acknowledged that emotions clouded his judgment. "What occurred during stoppage time was overwhelming, and I let my emotions take control. If I could turn back time, I would approach it differently. I aspire to manage it better in the future," he stated in a press conference.
