Bentancur Returns Home and is 'Feeling Great' Following Unfortunate Incident: Postecoglou

London, Jan 10 (NationPress) Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou has disclosed that midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur has returned home from the hospital after enduring a freak incident in the Carabao Cup semi-final against Liverpool.

The Uruguayan international had to leave the field less than 15 minutes into the game due to an unusual occurrence while attempting a diving header from a corner at the near post. Bentancur landed awkwardly and stayed on the ground, raising immediate alarm among players and medical staff.

"Great news. He was hospitalized and underwent all necessary tests to ensure everything is fine. All is well. He is back home and feeling good. Fortunately, it appears to be a concussion and nothing more serious," Postecoglou stated.

"Of course, we will adhere to the protocols now, and for a couple of weeks, we need to ensure his well-being," Postecoglou added.

Medical staff carefully transported the midfielder onto a stretcher after an eight-minute delay. Tottenham later confirmed via social media that Bentancur was alert, speaking, and en route to the hospital for further evaluations.

Bentancur himself took to Instagram shortly after midnight to share an optimistic update. "All is good, everyone! Thank you for the well-wishes! Kudos to the boys for the victory!" he posted.

The incident involving Bentancur briefly overshadowed what became a pivotal victory for Tottenham. An 86th-minute strike from young talent Lucas Bergvall secured a 1-0 win against Liverpool.

Postecoglou confirmed that Bentancur suffered a concussion from the incident, which will keep him out of the next four matches as the club must comply with the Premier League's concussion protocols.
