New Delhi, March 7 (NationPress) The Formula 1 and Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) have announced that the Cadillac Formula 1 Team has received the final nod to enter the sport. This team, supported by TWG Motorsports and General Motors (GM), is set to join the F1 grid in 2026.
On Friday, the FIA and Formula One Management revealed that the Cadillac Formula 1 Team has fulfilled all requirements to integrate with the current 10 teams starting next year. A joint statement from the FIA and Formula 1 stated, “The FIA and Formula 1 can confirm that, after completing their respective sporting, technical, and commercial evaluations, the application from General Motors and TWG Motorsports to introduce a Cadillac team to the FIA Formula One World Championship from 2026 has been authorized.”
This development follows recent confirmations of key appointments, including former Marussia Sporting Director Graeme Lowdon stepping in as Team Principal, and industry expert Russ O’Blenes taking the role of CEO of TWG GM Performance Power Units, which will aid Cadillac in establishing a strong presence in the sport in the upcoming years.
