New Delhi, Sep 23 (NationPress) As the countdown to the inaugural World Para-Athletics Championships 2025 in the capital ticks down to just two days, Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya conducted a visit to the JLN Stadium on Tuesday to assess the final arrangements for this landmark event. This championship represents a significant milestone in India’s journey to host global sporting events, further solidifying the nation’s reputation as a premier destination for international sports.
Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs, Smt. Raksha Khadse, accompanied Dr. Mandaviya, engaging with athletes and the organizing teams. The inspection was attended by senior officials from the Local Organising Committee, Paralympic Committee of India (PCI), and the Sports Ministry.
Dr. Mandaviya thoroughly inspected the stadium facilities, including the Accreditation Centre, Medical Centre, and the state-of-the-art MONDO track—recently inaugurated on August 29, 2025. This track is set to welcome elite para-athletes from over 100 countries, with 73 athletes representing the host nation in fierce competition.
“Thanks to the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, India has become a trusted venue for major international sporting events. His belief that the world is one family—‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’—inspires us to unite athletes from all corners of the globe on Indian soil,” Dr. Mandaviya remarked during the visit.
