Dele Alli Announces Departure from Everton, Eyes New Opportunities Ahead

New Delhi, Dec 20 (NationPress) English midfielder Dele Alli has officially stated that he will be leaving Everton FC amidst speculations of teaming up with former Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas at Como. The 28-year-old intends to train with the Italian side in hopes of enhancing his skills and securing a contract with the club.

Alli’s contract with the Toffees concluded in June, but he remained at Goodison Park for ongoing training.

“As has been widely reported this week, 2025 could usher in a new chapter filled with exciting opportunities. Before that unfolds, it's crucial for me to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the fans, staff, and players at Everton FC for their unwavering support,” he shared on Instagram.

“This journey has been incredibly challenging as I strive to regain match fitness, and I owe immense thanks to the Everton staff for their dedication throughout this process. Sadly, things haven’t panned out as we had all desired, and I believe it’s the right moment for me to embark on a new journey. I wish everyone at this wonderful club the best of luck, and I hope we cross paths again soon,” he stated.

At one point, Alli was hailed as one of the most promising talents globally, with his rise beginning at Tottenham Hotspur. However, struggles with mental health, which he discussed in an interview with Gary Neville, along with injuries, have hindered his career.

While head coach Fabregas opted not to comment on Alli’s situation, Como's sporting director Carlalberto Ludi acknowledged the interest, asserting that the Spanish head coach is very fond of him.

“In ideal conditions, he would be of interest to many. We have a strong rapport with his agent, and something promising could emerge, but it's too soon to say for certain,” Ludi noted.

“We need a few weeks for us to get acquainted, and then we will make the best decision. A percentage? It’s premature to determine. We will go through a period of training and mutual understanding, but Fabregas really values him,” Ludi added.
