Como, July 18 (NationPress) Maximo Perrone has officially transferred to the Italian club Como FC on a permanent basis. The talented 21-year-old has committed to a contract lasting until 2029. He previously spent three years with Manchester City after moving from the Argentinian club Velez Sarsfield in 2022.
"I am thrilled to confirm my stay at Como. I built fantastic relationships with the coach, teammates, the city, and the fans during my time here last year. I believe we will share many more memorable experiences moving forward," Perrone expressed in an interview with Como 1907’s media team.
During his time at the Etihad Stadium, the 22-year-old featured in two matches under Pep Guardiola in the 2022/23 season, contributing to the club's historic Treble achievement.
Additionally, Perrone celebrated City's 2023 Super Cup victory against Sevilla before securing a loan move to Las Palmas for the entire 2023/24 season.
"Although my chapter at Manchester City has concluded, I want to extend my gratitude to everyone at the club for their unwavering support and guidance during my invaluable time at the CFA," remarked Perrone when discussing his departure with the Manchester City media.
The young defensive midfielder gained significant experience while on loan, making 30 appearances for the La Liga team that finished 16th.
In his most recent campaign, he joined Como on loan, making slightly fewer appearances due to an injury—26 in total—but he logged more playing time than in his previous loan stint.
Perrone assisted three goals during Como's Serie A campaign, helping the club secure a 10th place finish. His determination, adaptability, and tactical awareness captured the attention of Head Coach Cesc Fabregas, leading to his permanent transfer.
"We are excited to welcome Máxi to the Como family on a permanent contract. He integrated smoothly last season, grasped our playing philosophy, and became an essential part of the team," stated head coach Cesc Fàbregas.
