New Delhi, May 3 (NationPress) Gujarat Titans spinner Rashid Khan praised the leadership abilities of Shubman Gill and the collective effort of the team for their impressive performance in IPL 2025.
Following a 38-run victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday, Gujarat Titans climbed to the second position in the points table, boasting seven wins in ten matches, just behind the Mumbai Indians, who have equal points in eleven games but a superior net run rate.
The team's batting strength lies in their top order, including Sai Sudharsan, Gill, and Jos Buttler, all of whom are in the race for the Orange Cap. Currently, Sudharsan is leading with 504 runs, followed closely by Buttler and Gill, who have 470 and 465 runs, respectively.
On the bowling side, Prasidh Krishna holds the Purple Cap with 19 wickets, while Mohammed Siraj is also a notable contributor with 14 wickets.
The Afghan star commended Gill for his exemplary leadership and its positive impact on the team.
"I believe it’s a total team effort. Starting from Ashish bhai, who adeptly manages the team, to captain Shubman Gill, who effectively leads on the field and sets an example for us. His leadership makes it easier for everyone to contribute," Rashid remarked during a virtual media interaction organized by the franchise.
The 26-year-old emphasized the importance of simplicity in their approach, which has been key to their success.
"To be honest, we focus on keeping things simple. The simpler we keep it, the better we perform. We prioritize our process and mindset over the results, ensuring our preparations are thorough. This is why we have consistently delivered strong performances," he explained.
With playoff qualification in sight, Gujarat aims to secure the top position in the standings to enhance their chances of reaching the finals.
The Ahmedabad-based franchise is set to face the table leaders, Mumbai Indians, at Wankhede Stadium on May 6.
