Golf: Ancer and Catlin to Shine at International Series India

Gurugram, Jan 10 (NationPress) The winner of the 2024 LIV Golf Hong Kong, Abraham Ancer, along with the reigning Asian Tour Order of Merit champion, John Catlin, are some of the prominent names confirmed to take part in the International Series India, a US$2 million tournament set to occur at DLF Golf and Country Club later this month.
Ancer and Catlin will be joined by the defending U.S. Open champion and captain of LIV Golf’s Crushers GC, Bryson DeChambeau, along with local favorite Anirban Lahiri, and the winner of The International Series Rankings, Joaquin Niemann, for this much-anticipated tournament happening from January 30 to February 2 in Gurugram.
The Mexican star Ancer, who is a vital part of Sergio Garcia’s Fireballs GC for 2024, had a remarkable season in the LIV Golf League, finishing 12th in individual standings due to his victory in Hong Kong and three additional top-10 placements.
Catlin had an exceptional 2024 season, achieving back-to-back victories on the Asian Tour at the International Series Macau in March, where he recorded a historic score of 59, followed by a thrilling playoff win against David Puig from Fireballs GC, and another victory at the Saudi Open in April.
Aside from his wins, the American also had strong showings with two playoff losses in The International Series, narrowly missing out at International Series Morocco to Ben Campbell, who recently joined LIV Golf with RangeGoats GC, and at the Black Mountain Championship in Thailand to fellow American M.J. Maguire.
Additionally, he had a successful stint as an alternate in the LIV Golf League, achieving a T7, which was his season-high over six appearances with three different teams: Crushers GC, Smash GC, and Legion XIII.
