Golf: Bryson DeChambeau Set to Compete in International Series India

Gurugram, Dec 20 (NationPress) Golf sensation Bryson DeChambeau is set to play in the International Series India, happening from January 30 to February 2. This event is significant as it will be the first instance of a defending major champion competing in the Indian subcontinent.
The captain of the Crushers GC will join his Indian colleague Anirban Lahiri for the inaugural event of 10 elevated tournaments on the 2025 Asian Tour schedule, with more high-profile players expected to be announced for the $2 million event at the DLF Golf & Country Club in Gurugram. DeChambeau, who has previously competed on the PGA Tour and clinched two major championships at the 2020 and 2024 U.S. Open, is currently active in the LIV Golf League.
The 31-year-old is famous for his strategic mindset in the sport, which has earned him the title of 'The Scientist'. He secured the US Open at Pinehurst in June, adding to his previous victory at Winged Foot in 2020.
With two victories in the LIV Golf League and seven titles on the PGA Tour, along with his two major wins, DeChambeau is regarded as one of the most compelling personalities in contemporary sports, recognized globally for his unconventional approach to golf.

Born in Modesto, California, DeChambeau is the fifth golfer in history to win both the NCAA Division I championship and the U.S. Amateur in the same year. By winning the U.S. Open, he became the third individual to achieve this trifecta, following in the footsteps of Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods.
