Lahiri will team up with his Crushers GC colleagues in India, including captain and reigning U.S. Open champion Bryson DeChambeau, alongside Paul Casey, a notable winner on the international circuit.
Having been an active participant in The International Series since its launch in 2022, Anirban has made his mark with two top-20 finishes in three tournaments during 2024, including a T5 at the International Series Qatar and a T17 at the International Series England.
The seasoned golfer, who takes pride in representing his nation on the global stage, advocates for the International Series event in Gurugram to become a permanent fixture on the Asian Tour in the future.
He expressed: “It’s only fitting that The International Series presented by DLF comes to India. I hope that International Series India establishes itself as an annual occurrence, as it truly deserves that recognition. This event symbolizes the collaboration between the country and the Asian Tour, and I’m thrilled.”
“We have been eager for The International Series to take place in India, and I extend my gratitude to DLF for facilitating this. I sincerely hope it becomes a regular highlight in our tournament calendar, marking it as the biggest event in the subcontinent.”
At 36 years old, Lahiri, who has participated in various tournaments across India, acknowledges the Asian Tour’s pivotal role in nurturing the careers of many Indian golf legends over the years.
“India has played a significant role in the Asian Tour. Reflecting on my journey as a professional golfer, I have spent many years competing in Asia, and many of my peers and mentors, including legends like Jeev Milkha Singh and S.S.P. Chawrasia, are products of the Asian Tour.
“Furthermore, Indian golf has a profound connection and a rich history, and we owe a lot of gratitude to the platform provided by the Asian Tour.”
In 2024, Lahiri achieved four top 10 finishes in the LIV Golf League, placing second at LIV Golf Andalucia and T6 at events in Chicago, Houston, and Jeddah. He is optimistic about improving his consistency as the 2025 season approaches.
“I strive for higher standards of consistency. Last year wasn’t my best in that regard. I aim to elevate my game throughout the year and to be in contention more frequently. I feel like my performance plateaued somewhat,” he stated.
“I’m fully committed to enhancing my game and securing that first win, which I consider paramount. My focus is on achieving that goal and competing well in the majors, as I continue my journey as a professional golfer.”
