Adelaide, Feb 16 (NationPress) Chile's Joaquin Niemann delivered a flawless performance, scoring a 7-under 65 to seize the LIV Golf Adelaide title with a commanding three-shot advantage at the Grange Golf Club on Sunday.

Mexican golfers Abraham Ancer and Carlos Ortiz both posted 71s, tying for second place with a total of 10 under.

“Days like today help me evolve as a player. There are many lessons to absorb from today because it was a fantastic day. If I could experience more Sundays like this, chasing the leaders, it would be beneficial for my game,” remarked Niemann, marking his second victory in Australia after winning the Australian Open in 2023.

Sam Horsfield, who began the final round tied with Ancer and Ortiz at nine under, concluded in a tie for seventh after finishing with a three-over 75. Tom McKibbin from Northern Ireland also shared the seventh position after closing with a 69.

Despite the outcome, Ancer, a former Australian Open champion, celebrated with his team, Fireballs, who secured the team title by six strokes over Jon Rahm's Legion XIII, with Torque finishing in third place.

The Fireballs achieved their fifth tournament victory in club history, with four of those wins spanning different continents. They are the only team to have claimed at least one team title in every LIV Golf season. Team captain Sergio Garcia and David Puig each shot impressive 5-under 67s, while Ancer and newcomer Luis Masaveu, aged 22, carded 71s.

“The last two holes were tough, finishing with bogey-bogey while having a chance to win the tournament. It's always challenging, but I view it as motivation for the remainder of the season. My game is heading in the right direction, and I’m optimistic about where things are going,” Ancer stated, looking ahead to LIV Golf’s upcoming tournament in Hong Kong as the defending champion.
