Haris Rauf and Danni Wyatt-Hodge Recognized as ICC Players of the Month for November 2024

New Delhi, Dec 11 (NationPress) Haris Rauf, the fast-bowler from Pakistan, and Danni Wyatt-Hodge, the opener from England's women's team, have been awarded the prestigious ICC Players of the Month title for November 2024.
Rauf triumphed over competitors like Jasprit Bumrah and Marco Jansen to clinch this award, marking a consecutive victory for Pakistan following spinner Noman Ali's win in October.
Displaying his formidable skills, Rauf excelled in six ODIs and three T20Is for Pakistan. He kicked off his tour in Australia with a fiery performance, taking three wickets in Melbourne, and elevated his game by achieving a pivotal five-wicket haul to equalize the series.
In the decisive match at Perth, Rauf captured two additional wickets, finishing as the leading wicket-taker of the series with a total of 10 wickets at an impressive economy rate of just five, helping Pakistan secure a 2-1 series victory.
Rauf maintained his exceptional form in the subsequent T20I series, claiming five wickets, which included a remarkable four-wicket haul in the second match, and added three more wickets during the ODI series in Zimbabwe, totaling 18 dismissals across all formats in November.
“Receiving the ICC Player of the Month award is a tremendous honor, and I am genuinely grateful for this recognition. This achievement reflects not only my efforts but also the unwavering support from my teammates and our devoted fans,” stated Rauf.
“Wearing the Pakistan jersey is a privilege, and accolades like these inspire me to strive harder and exceed my limits. I dedicate this award to everyone who has been part of my journey, and I eagerly anticipate contributing further to the success of Pakistan cricket,” he added.
On the women's side, Danni outperformed fellow nominees Sharmin Akhter and Nadine de Klerk to earn this accolade. The right-handed opener exhibited remarkable form during England's 3-0 T20I series victory in their ongoing multi-format tour of South Africa.
After a modest beginning in East London, Danni exploded with a phenomenal 78 runs off just 45 balls, significantly aiding England to a 36-run victory in Benoni. She capped off the series with another dazzling half-century, ensuring England's series sweep with a nine-wicket win at Centurion.
“I am thrilled and honored to receive this award. A heartfelt thank you to all my teammates and coaches for their daily encouragement. We showcased excellent performances in our T20I series against South Africa, which contributed to our success,” expressed Danni.
“On a personal note, I am pleased with my consistent performance, and my goal—both individually and as a team—is to maintain this momentum as we prepare for the Ashes and an exciting year of cricket ahead,” she concluded.
