Ahmedabad, Jan 29 (NationPress) The 21-year-old Shubham Jaglan from India, who finished as a two-time runner-up on the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) last season, delivered an impressive performance with a score of three-under 69, taking a one-shot lead with a total of four-under 212 after the third round of the Final Qualifying Stage of the PGTI Qualifying School 2026 at the Kensville Golf & Country Club in Ahmedabad on Thursday.

The Gurugram-native Shubham (72-71-69), who competed in professional golf in the United States last year before joining the PGTI in November, advanced one position from his previous tied second place due to his 69, which was one of only two under-par scores recorded on Thursday in challenging windy conditions.

Round two leader Jhared Hack (70-70-73) from the USA scored a 73 in the third round, placing him in second at three-under 213.

The Indian trio, which includes Kartik Singh (75), Jujhar Singh (74), and Rohit Baisoya (76), is tied for third at four-over 220.

Former India No. 1 junior Shubham Jaglan, who started the day three shots behind the leader, had difficulty hitting the greens on his first five holes, but managed to save par thanks to his chipping and putting skills. His game improved significantly from the seventh hole, where he recorded four birdies against a single bogey, showcasing his exceptional tee shots and putting abilities.

Shubham, participating in the PGTI Q School for the first time, expressed, “My strong performances on the PGTI last year have instilled confidence and momentum for this week’s Final Stage of Qualifying. My game feels solid, and my swing is in good form. As I head into the final round, I aim to maintain my current performance. I’ve remained patient throughout the week and haven’t allowed poor shots to impact my game too much. A stellar performance this week would mark a perfect start to the season.”

At the conclusion of round four, the top 47 players will secure their full cards for the 2026 PGTI season.
