The Indian pair, who were seeded eighth, showcased a commendable effort, recovering after a narrow first-game loss to take the second, but ultimately could not sustain their performance in the deciding game, ending the match with scores of 23-25, 21-10, 15-21 in exactly one hour.

This defeat concluded India's journey in the German Open, a BWF World Tour Super 300 event with a prize purse of US $240,000, as they were the last remaining Indian competitors, following earlier exits of male player Tharun Mannepalli and women's singles athletes Unnati Hooda, Rakshitha Ramraj, and Tasnim Mir.

Dhruv and Tanisha, ranked 30th in mixed doubles, fought valiantly in Mulheim but succumbed to the newly formed Indonesian pair of Rehan Kusharjanto and Gloria Widjaja.

The match began with a strong start for the Indian duo, taking a 4-2 lead initially. However, the pair soon faced pressure as Gloria Widjaja, ranked 10th in mixed doubles, and Rehan Kusharjanto, ranked 26th, surged ahead with a 12-7 advantage.

The Indian athletes regrouped, winning five consecutive points to level the score at 12-12. They fought off four game points before eventually conceding on the fifth.

In the second game, Dhruv and Tanisha came out aggressively once again, managing to extend their lead to five points at the break and ultimately clinching the game decisively.

The final game was closely contested, with the Indian team holding a slight edge at halftime. However, at 13-13, the Indonesian pair intensified their game and closed out the match with five consecutive points.

Previously, in the quarterfinals, Dhruv and Tanisha triumphed over China's Gao Jia Xuan and Wu Meng Ying in straight games.
