Kolkata, March 12 (NationPress) Renowned Indian golfers such as Gaganjeet Bhullar, SSP Chawrasia, Rahil Gangjee, Rashid Khan, and Ajeetesh Sandhu will compete alongside international players in the highly anticipated second edition of the Kolkata Challenge commencing on Thursday.

This tournament, co-sanctioned by the HotelPlanner Tour (formerly the Challenge Tour) and the PGTI, boasts a total prize purse of US$ 300,000 and marks the inaugural event in the two-week Indian leg of the HotelPlanner Tour.

Taking place at the historic RCGC in Kolkata from March 13 to 16, the event will host a competitive field of 156 players representing 31 different nations.

The Indian team, spearheaded by Bhullar and Chawrasia, includes other notable golfers such as HotelPlanner Tour champion Om Prakash Chouhan, Manu Gandas, Olympian Udayan Mane, Yuvraj Sandhu, Chikkarangappa, and Karandeep Kochhar.

Among the prominent participants from the HotelPlanner Tour are the English duo Eddie Pepperell and Jamie Rutherford, Italy’s Renato Paratore, Spain’s Adri Arnaus, and American Matt Oshrine.

Amandeep Johl, the CEO of PGTI, expressed excitement, stating, “Golf enthusiasts in Kolkata will experience an exhilarating competition featuring leading Indian professionals and several talented individuals from Europe at one of the country's iconic golfing venues.

“A robust Indian representation will be present with established players like Gaganjeet Bhullar, SSP Chawrasia, Rahil Gangjee, Rashid Khan, and Ajeetesh Sandhu, among others. This tournament also offers essential international exposure for young and rising Indian professionals. We wish all participants the best of luck,” he added.
