Jaipur, December 3 (NationPress) Kushal Singh delivered an extraordinary performance with a seven-under 63, propelling him to the forefront on Day Two of the Jaipur Open 2025, a prestigious INR 1 crore tournament held at the Rambagh Golf Club in Jaipur. The golfer from Gurugram (64-63), who has seen a surge in his performance since securing second place at the PGTI NexGen event in Bhubaneswar last month, recorded a total of 13-under 127 at the halfway mark, moving up from his overnight tied second position to seize a narrow one-shot lead.
The leader of the PGTI Order of Merit, Yuvraj Sandhu (65-63), also showcased his skills with another 63, finishing the second round in second place at 12-under 128, thus advancing four spots from day one.
Veer Ahlawat, the 2024 PGTI Ranking champion, achieved a tournament-low score of eight-under 62, an error-free round that elevated him nine positions to a tied third at 11-under 129. He was joined in third place by Ravi Kumar, who improved his standing by six spots with his own bogey-free 63.
Manoj S., who led after the first round, fell to tied 11th at five-under 135, following a score of 72 on Wednesday.
Two local professionals from Jaipur made the cut, including Prakhar Asawa (two-under 138) and Hemendra Choudhary (one-under 139), finishing tied 23rd and tied 34th, respectively.
The cut was set at even-par 140, allowing 54 professionals to advance to the money rounds.
Kushal Singh followed up his impressive 64 in the first round with another remarkable effort of 63 on day two. The thirty-one-year-old golfer, who has achieved a top-10, top-20, and top-30 finish in his last three events on the PGTI, is steadily climbing the PGTI Rankings and is currently positioned 61st in the Order of Merit.
After taking a three-year hiatus from golf to manage his family business, Kushal started his day slowly, recording five pars followed by a bogey on the sixth hole. However, he rebounded with eight birdies from the seventh hole to the 18th, showcasing exceptional drives and quality up-and-down shots.
Kushal commented, “I’ve been playing well since the beginning of the year when I finished in the top-10 at the PGTI Qualifying School. My season gained significant momentum after my runner-up finish at the NexGen event in Bhubaneswar. I’ve maintained consistency and have been scoring well since then.”
Yuvraj Sandhu once again made a strong push for the title with his round of 63, which included a chip-in and three long conversions.
Veer Ahlawat demonstrated exceptional skills off the tees, converting several putts from 10 to 15 feet, including one for an eagle during his dazzling round of 62.
