Pandharpur, June 22 (NationPress) In an extraordinary blend of spiritual devotion, physical fitness, and environmental awareness, the 4th Akhil Maharashtra Pandharpur Cycle Wari Sammelan – 2025 unfolded with immense enthusiasm and community spirit.
This grand event of Fit India Sundays on Cycle was collaboratively orchestrated by the Sports Authority of India, Regional Centre – Mumbai, along with the Pandharpur Cycle Wari Sangh.
More than 5000 cyclists from over 90 cycling clubs across Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Madhya Pradesh participated in this remarkable gathering. These passionate cyclists embarked on a journey covering 400 to 450 kilometers, starting their travels 3-4 days prior to reach the sacred town of Pandharpur, located in the Solapur district of Maharashtra. They actively engaged in the spiritually significant Nagar Pradakshina and the lively Ringan Sohala, demonstrating exceptional determination, devotion, and endurance.
The event was graced by the presence of several esteemed dignitaries, including Raksha Khadse, Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, J B Gore, Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Government of Maharashtra, and others such as Dhairyasheel Mohite Patil, MP, and Dr. Amit Samarth, a renowned endurance cyclist and 19-time Ironman from Nagpur.
The Railway Ground in Pandharpur was transformed into an energetic hub under the Fit India – Sundays on Cycle initiative. This event sent forth a strong message advocating sustainable transportation, community health, and spiritual unity, reinforcing the idea that cycling transcends mere sport; it embodies a lifestyle aimed at fostering a healthier and greener India.
