LeBron Shares Insights on His Rest-Enhanced Comeback in Lakers' Victory, States 'It Benefited Mind and Body'

Los Angeles, Dec 16 (NationPress) LeBron James made his return to the court on Monday (IST) after sitting out the Los Angeles Lakers' last two games due to left foot discomfort, aiding his team in achieving a 116-110 triumph over the Memphis Grizzlies at Crypto.com Arena.
The seasoned player, who has been in the league for 22 years, reflected on his choice to rest during the matches against the Portland Trail Blazers and Minnesota Timberwolves, asserting that the brief hiatus was a wise move.
"It’s quite uncommon, to be honest, to have a break in the schedule like that," James mentioned following the Lakers’ 116-110 victory against the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday. "Thus, it was an effortless decision for me, the team, and my trainer to utilize those days for recovery. It was fantastic."
"I was able to take additional days to prepare my mind, body, and everything else for tonight, and it paid off. I listen to more than just my own instincts because, if it were solely my choice, I probably would’ve participated in the Portland game. I’m uncertain if I would’ve played in the Minnesota game, but it would’ve been challenging to keep me off the court. I have a team, and I must consider their input as well. They prioritize my best interests," LeBron stated during the post-game discussion.
As he approaches his 40th birthday at the end of the month, LeBron contributed significantly to the Lakers' victory with 18 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists, alongside Anthony Davis, who delivered a stunning performance with 40 points and 16 rebounds that night.
The team, coached by JJ Reddick, has now improved their record to 14-12 this season after experiencing six losses in their last ten games.
In closing, LeBron acknowledged that his injury challenges "are not behind" him, indicating that the issue remains persistent. "No, it’s not behind me. It’s a daily concern. It has been a lingering issue for the past few years, but I managed to accomplish many great things to address it. I received a knee to the quad in the Atlanta game at the end of regulation from Anthony Davis, which is now back to 100 percent. Just three days ago, it was still quite sore. But I managed to restore it back to 100 percent, which is wonderful, allowing me to engage in various other elements as well," he added.
