M. Raghu Stuns Top Seed Sathish Kumar to Advance to Men's Singles Final at Sr National Badminton

Bengaluru, Dec 23 (NationPress) In an unexpected outcome, unseeded M. Raghu claimed victory over the top seed and Guwahati Masters champion Sathish Kumar K. to set up a men’s singles final against former champion Mithun Manjunath at the 86th Senior National Badminton Championship held here on Monday. Raghu prevailed with scores of 21-17 and 21-17 in the semifinal, while Manjunath concluded the tournament run of Roshan Chouhan with a score of 21-15 and 21-13.
The women’s final is set to feature 13th seed Devika Sihag competing against 12th seed Shriyanshi Valishetty. Devika triumphed over Adarshini Shri NB with scores of 21-13 and 21-10, while Shriyanshi bested Tasnim Mir with a score of 25-23 and 21-13.
In the women’s doubles category, the defending champions Shruti Mishra and Priya Devi Konjengbam will compete against the second seeds Arathi Sara Sunil and Varshini VS in the final.
Shruti is in contention for a double crown, having also reached the final of the mixed doubles alongside Ayush Agarwal. The unseeded duo overcame the seasoned pair of Shivam Sharma and Poorvisha S Ram with scores of 21-16 and 21-19.
They are set to face 8th seeds Rohan Kapoor and Ruthvika Shivani in the final. The men’s doubles final will feature the top seeds Naveen P and Lokesh V going head-to-head with the young duo of Arsh Mohammad and Sanskar Saraswat.
