Pune, Dec 13 (NationPress) The Tamil Thalaivas showcased a valiant effort, but the Patna Pirates’ raiders, Devank and Ayan, were instrumental in securing a significant victory for the three-time champions during a Season 11 encounter of the Pro Kabaddi League at the Badminton Hall of the Balewadi Sports Complex on Friday. The Patna Pirates emerged victorious with a score of 42-38, where Devank registered 12 points and Ayan added 13 to the team's tally. Shubham Shinde also marked a High 5 performance. For the Tamil Thalaivas, who are nearing playoff elimination, Moein Shafaghi scored 11 points while Sachin contributed 8.
Devank initiated the scoring for the Patna Pirates, and alongside Ayan, they helped their team to a quick 3-point lead early in the match. The Patna Pirates dominated the initial phases, putting the Tamil Thalaivas under considerable pressure. Despite Devank and Ayan carrying the scoring load, a collective defensive effort by the Tamil Thalaivas helped narrow the gap.
Devank was quick to rack up points, and midway through the first half, the Patna Pirates executed an All Out, extending their lead to seven points. However, Moein Shafaghi and the defense were determined to stage a comeback, with Sachin also making crucial raids. At halftime, the Patna Pirates held a 20-15 advantage.
In the second half, Nitesh Kumar quickly eliminated Ayan with his raid, putting the Tamil Thalaivas in a position to potentially turn the game around.
