Ruben Amorim Acknowledges Job Risks as Manchester United Struggles

Manchester, December 27 (NationPress) The head coach of Manchester United, Ruben Amorim, who joined the team in November, has expressed his awareness of the precariousness of his position if he fails to improve the team's performance. He remarked, 'The manager of Manchester United can never, no matter what, feel secure, and I fully understand the situation I’m in. I realize that if we don’t achieve victories, regardless of any buyout clauses, every manager is at risk, and I accept that because that is part of the role, so I comprehend the concern.'
Amorim continued, 'You might argue that I have only been here for a month and conducted four training sessions, but the fact remains that we are not winning. I am quite at ease with this reality,' he stated during a press conference.
Following a 0-2 defeat against the Wolverhampton Wanderers on Boxing Day, Manchester United has had a tough season, currently positioned in 14th place in the Premier League standings prior to their match against Newcastle United on Tuesday.
Since Amorim’s appointment, replacing Erik Ten Hag, the team has managed to secure only two victories in seven league matches, necessitating a turnaround as they approach the mid-season mark with 18 games played.
Additionally, the team's struggles with defending set pieces have raised concerns, having conceded two goals from corners within a week. Amorim addressed these issues, emphasizing the need for his team to adapt to the tactics of their opponents.
'If set pieces are becoming increasingly significant, we must learn how to handle them. I need to adapt as well, even with the smaller players. We should replicate successful strategies rather than attempt to alter the rules. We must leverage the rules to score,' he concluded.
