Jamshedpur, Jan 29 (NationPress) The 19-year-old amateur Shat Mishra carded an impressive three-under 68 in the second round, securing his position at the top of the Pre-Qualifying II of the PGTI Qualifying School 2025 held at the Golmuri Golf Course on Wednesday. Mishra (66-68), representing the DLF Golf & Country Club in Gurugram, concluded with a total score of eight-under 134, finishing three shots ahead of the competition.
Out of a total of 109 competitors in Pre-Qualifying II, the leading 28 players advanced to the Final Qualifying Stage, with the cutoff set at one over 143.
Shat Mishra, who started the day as the leader by one stroke, achieved five birdies and two bogeys during his round of 68, maintaining his strong performance at Pre Q II. A nine-time junior champion, he executed notable recoveries after encountering trees on both the eighth and 18th holes, resulting in birdies. Additionally, he converted his longest putt of the week, a 20-footer on the fifth, for another birdie. Notably, three of his birdies were on par-5 holes.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Delhi-based teen Shat Mishra had recorded a five-under 66 to lead after the first round.
Mishra, originally from the DLF Golf & Country Club in Gurugram, but residing in Delhi, played exceptionally well throughout the day, scoring birdies on three of the four par-5 holes. The former India No. 1 in the junior category also set up birdies on the 17th and seventh holes, both par-3s, by landing within five feet of the pin.
