Mumbai, Sep 29 (NationPress) Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav arrived back in his hometown of Mumbai from Dubai on Monday, just a day after he led the Men in Blue to victory in the Men's T20 Asia Cup 2025, securing a win over Pakistan by five wickets in the final held at the Dubai International Stadium.

Surya returned to Mumbai in the evening alongside his wife, departing the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in a black SUV. He chose not to engage with the media, having already made his remarks during the post-match conference following the final in Dubai. The Indian team's off-field decisions drew as much attention as their on-field performance.

The Indian squad left Dubai on Monday evening, with players arriving at various destinations. Those included in the Test squad, along with head coach Gautam Gambhir and support staff, landed in Ahmedabad, where India is set to face West Indies in the upcoming Test match. Other players not in the Test squad took flights to their respective homes. Another Mumbai player, Shivam Dube, has also reportedly returned.

Under Suryakumar Yadav's leadership, India remained undefeated in the tournament, winning seven matches and defeating their long-standing rivals Pakistan three times. However, after the final, the Indian players notably refrained from shaking hands with their defeated opponents and declined to accept the Asia Cup trophy from Mohsin Naqvi, the president of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), who is also Pakistan's interior minister. This action reflected the Indian team's stance on not acknowledging the players and officials from Pakistan.

Despite Mohsin Naqvi standing firm on his position to present the trophy as ACC president, the Indian team refused to accept it from him, leading to Naqvi leaving the stadium with the trophy.
