UP Falcons Triumph Over Chandigarh Chargers to Secure Division 2 Championship at Yuva Kabaddi Series

Coimbatore, Jan 2 (NationPress) The Division 2 phase of the 11th Yuva Kabaddi Series came to a thrilling conclusion at the Karpagam Academy of Higher Education in Coimbatore, heralding an exciting start to the new year. The final match between UP Falcons and Chandigarh Chargers was heart-pounding, with the Falcons emerging triumphant by a mere point in a dramatic 33-32 finish.

The initial half was completely dominated by the Chandigarh Chargers, who surged to a 12-point advantage, placing the Falcons on the defensive. Bablu Singh spearheaded the Chargers' offensive, contributing seven points, complemented by a cohesive team effort.

Nonetheless, the UP Falcons mounted an impressive resurgence in the second half, initiating an all-out that significantly narrowed the gap. They sustained their drive, executing another all-out with just eight minutes remaining, enabling them to take the lead.

The match reached its peak with the score tied at 32-32 in the closing moments. Chandigarh’s leading raider Nikesh faced a critical do-or-die raid but was expertly tackled by Tarun Kumar, clinching the Falcons' victory at 33-32.

For the UP Falcons, Rachit Yadav shone as the key raider with nine points, while Ayush Kumar fortified the defense with four pivotal tackle points. Despite a robust overall performance from the Chargers, their failure to secure the win in the dying minutes cost them the championship.

With Division 2 concluded in an exhilarating manner, the Yuva Kabaddi Series is now set to transition to Division 1, which is scheduled to kick off on January 3.
