Yuva Kabaddi Series: Chandigarh Chargers Secure Final Spot Despite Narrow Defeat to Vizag Victors

Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu), Dec 30 (NationPress) The Chandigarh Chargers have officially secured their place in the Division 2 final even after a narrow defeat against the Vizag Victors during the ongoing Yuva Kabaddi Series. This exciting event unfolded on the eighth day at the Karpagam Academy of Higher Education on Monday. The Delhi Dhurandhars, UP Falcons, and Hampi Heroes showcased their dominance by winning their respective matches on this action-packed day.

The final encounter of the day proved to be the most exhilarating as the Vizag Victors managed to narrowly overcome the table leaders Chandigarh Chargers with a thrilling score of 38-36. Although they faced defeat, Chandigarh still earned a point, solidifying their place in the finals. For Vizag, substitute Pirati Srisivatejesh emerged as the key player, racking up 13 raid points, while Samara Simha Reddy Gunimini contributed a remarkable Super 10. In contrast, Nikesh from Chandigarh excelled with 15 raid points; however, the team stumbled in the critical final moments of the match.

The day kicked off with a gripping clash as the Delhi Dhurandhars narrowly defeated the Sindh Sonics 28-23. Leading the raiding efforts was Arpit Nagar with nine raid points, but it was the substitute Nishant Bhati who made a significant impact with seven tackle points. Despite commendable defensive plays from Manav Sharma and Harichand Singh, the Sindh Sonics faltered in their raiding attempts and fell short.

In the second match, the UP Falcons maintained their impressive form, decisively defeating Panchala Pride 53-26. This victory puts the Falcons on the verge of qualifying for the final, while Panchala struggles to find a win in the tournament. Rachit Yadav was the standout raider, achieving an impressive 17 raid points, supported by Navneet Nagar's defensive skills with eight tackle points. Panchala's only highlight was Ghanshyam Das, who managed a Super 10 but lacked the necessary support from his teammates.

The third match featured the Hampi Heroes dominating the Hyderabad Hurricanes with a score of 55-28. Chetan Jangama was a force to be reckoned with for Hampi, accumulating 16 raid points, bolstered by his team's solid performance. The Hurricanes' Tholem Balakrishna fought hard with eight raid points but could not avert another significant loss.
