Yuva Kabaddi Series: Palani Tuskers Triumph Over Sonipat Spartans to Secure Division 1 Championship

Coimbatore, Jan 10 (NationPress) The Palani Tuskers emerged victorious in the Division 1 championship with a commanding performance against the Sonipat Spartans during the 11th edition of the Yuva Kabaddi Series held at the Karpagam Academy of Higher Education on Friday. This match concluded the Division rounds and set the stage for the highly anticipated Grand Finale scheduled for late February.

In what is considered one of the most dominant final displays in the history of the YKS, the Tuskers secured a decisive victory with a score of 42-15. The match started with a balanced exchange of leads in the first 10-15 minutes. However, the Palani Tuskers shifted gears towards the end of the first half, establishing an 18-10 lead by halftime.

The second half showcased a one-sided affair, with the Tuskers denying the Spartans any opportunity for a comeback. Palani added an impressive 24 points in the second half, while the Spartans could only manage five, resulting in a definitive win.

The Tuskers’ comprehensive performance was evident in their statistics: they achieved 19 raid points and 12 tackle points, outclassing the Spartans, who recorded just five raid points and seven tackle points. Moreover, Palani executed three all-outs during the match to underline their dominance.

Vishva Asalavan stood out as the top performer for the Tuskers with nine raid points. The entire team contributed significantly to both offense and defense, ensuring a top-notch finish. In contrast, Ashish was the leading scorer for the Spartans with only four points, highlighting their challenges against the well-coordinated Tuskers.

Having finished atop the league stage, the Palani Tuskers reaffirmed their excellence in the final, concluding their campaign on a high note and claiming the Division 1 title.

With this victory, the Yuva Kabaddi Series Division rounds have reached their conclusion, with six teams successfully qualifying for the Grand Finale, which is slated for late February. This month-long kabaddi spectacle will feature 12 teams, comprising six from the division rounds and six professional teams.
