Coimbatore, Jan 8 (NationPress) The Yuva Kabaddi Series - Division 1, hosted at the Karpagam Academy of Higher Education in Coimbatore, unfolded an eventful day filled with surprises, highlighted by the Palani Tuskers experiencing their inaugural defeat and the Murthal Magnets finally clinching their first win.
The action kicked off with the Murthal Magnets achieving their first victory by overcoming the Karpagam Raiders with a score of 40-32. Vinay showcased an impressive all-around display, contributing 15 raid points alongside three tackle points. Despite R. Gowtham securing 14 raid points for the Raiders, the lack of backing from teammates led to their defeat.
In the second fixture, the Sonipat Spartans dealt the Jaipur Thunders their fifth straight loss with a commanding 45-33 win. Ankit Saharwa spearheaded the Spartans' efforts with 12 raid points, while Naveen Sharma and Pankaj each tallied six tackle points. For Jaipur, Praveen delivered a High 5 and Mohit Gurjar contributed significantly, yet their efforts weren’t sufficient to change the outcome.
The third match witnessed the Aravalli Arrows shock the previously unbeaten Palani Tuskers with a 35-28 victory. Ankit Jat emerged as the key player, achieving nine tackle points, while Chetan Choudhary registered a high-5. Although M. Esakkiraja secured a High 5 for the Tuskers, their raiding efforts fell short, resulting in their first loss.
The final game of the day featured a nail-biting clash between the Kurukshetra Warriors and the Chennai Tamizhans, with the Warriors narrowly winning 32-30. Sachin Jagbir excelled with 14 raid points, and Sachin added a high-5 to the Warriors' score. For Chennai, Stanly Packiaraj recorded a Super 10 and Sakthivel R earned a High 5, but their efforts were just not enough.
