Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Oct 13 (NationPress) Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal announced on Monday that 112 aspirational districts have been successfully mapped through the PM Gati Shakti District Master Plan aimed at fostering inclusive growth.
The PM Gati Shakti initiative, introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 13, 2021, marks its four-year milestone, significantly reducing logistics costs and enhancing service delivery.
"The mapping of 112 Aspirational Districts through the PM Gati Shakti District Master Plan is a leap towards inclusive growth, moving beyond the fragmented planning of previous years. This initiative opens new avenues for India's Blue Economy and Green Energy," Goyal stated during an event.
The PM Gati Shakti initiative serves as a digital platform for the comprehensive planning of offshore development.
According to the Union Minister, "The platform consolidates crucial data from various Ministries to advance projects in offshore wind, resource exploration, coastal infrastructure, and more."
The initiative offers significant advantages such as early identification of potential infrastructure and regulatory conflicts, promoting data-driven offshore area management, streamlining environmental assessments and project approvals, and maintaining a centralized repository of verified geospatial data for effective planning.
During the event celebrating this achievement, several key initiatives were unveiled, including PM GatiShakti for Public via the Unified Geospatial Interface, PM GatiShakti-Offshore, the District Master Plan for all 112 Aspirational Districts, and the LEAPS 2025 awards.
Other noteworthy initiatives comprise the National Master Plan Dashboard which delivers insights into onboarded data layers, registered users, planned projects, and reported issues; a Knowledge Management System to share best practices among Ministries and states; and a Data Uploading and Management System that enables decentralized, real-time data management by stakeholders, along with the third volume of the PM GatiShakti Compendium highlighting tangible impacts of this transformative initiative.
Earlier, on the social media platform X, Union Minister Goyal praised four years of the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan, describing it as a fundamental step towards achieving a 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047.
"Celebrating four years of PM Gati Shakti, a revolutionary initiative by PM Modi, which has redefined India's infrastructure planning through a 'Whole-of-Government' approach," he shared.
By integrating Ministries, states/Union Territories (UTs), and sectors onto a single digital platform, it has accelerated project execution, enhanced synergy, and promoted sustainability.
The benefits are evident in quicker project realization, reduced logistics expenses, and improved services reaching every part of the nation.
Currently, fifty-eight Ministries/departments and all 36 states/UTs have been integrated, providing them with their own geospatial planning portals.
