New Delhi, Nov 17 (NationPress) Following the support of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's claims about electoral fraud, Samajwadi Party chief and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav described the situation as not mere 'chori' but 'dacoity'. In response, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya criticized Yadav on Monday, asserting that he is meddling in the SIR process and that “he will face consequences for this in 2027.”
This statement emerged after Akhilesh Yadav, while addressing the media, noted: “It’s not chori. Chori is a small theft. It’s dacoity. Openly done.”
Earlier, Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, accused the government of orchestrating vote theft across the country, referencing an incident in Aland within the Kalaburagi constituency, where efforts were allegedly made to erase legitimate votes of minorities and disadvantaged groups.
In an interview with IANS, Keshav Prasad Maurya remarked, “The unfounded claims of vote theft in Maharashtra, Haryana, and Bihar have utterly failed. The public is aware of who has genuinely served the nation and states, and who has exploited the country, indulging in corrupt politics for personal gain. Since 2014, accountability has become a norm for such individuals. The recent electoral results in Bihar reflect this change.”
“Vote chori is a non-issue. They are fabricating a distraction. Akhilesh Yadav is interfering in the SIR process, and he will receive punishment for this in 2027, which will be noted in the political annals of Uttar Pradesh. This behavior is unbecoming of him. They associate with criminals and mafias and operate a fraudulent ‘PDA,’ prioritizing their family’s interests. The era of Jungle Raj and Kattar Raj has concluded in Bihar. The implications of Bihar’s results resonate across the nation. The electorate will reveal the outcome in the approaching elections; such allegations will not help them regain power,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Samajwadi Party leader was present in Bengaluru for the ‘Vision India: Startup Summit.’
Regarding the Bihar Assembly election results, Akhilesh Yadav stated that he has not yet performed a booth-level analysis but has assessed the overall results.
“RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav is a prominent figure, and the Mahagathbandhan (grand alliance) entered the elections with a constructive vision. Our vision is progressive, while the opposition's perspective is one of division,” concluded the former Chief Minister.
