Kolkata, Feb 13 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, extended her congratulations to Tarique Rahman, the Prime Minister-designate, following the Bangladesh Nationalist Party's (BNP) resounding victory in the recent general elections held on Thursday, with results announced on Friday morning.
In a message shared via her official social media account, Chief Minister Banerjee also acknowledged the citizens of Bangladesh for their active involvement in the elections, which were largely conducted without incident on Thursday.
“I offer my warmest congratulations, 'Shubhonandan', to all my Bangladeshi brothers and sisters. I wish them an early Ramazan Mubarak. My heartfelt congratulations to my Tarique-Bhai, his party, and all associated parties for this significant win. I hope for the well-being and happiness of everyone. May our relations with Bangladesh remain strong,” the Chief Minister expressed in her social media post.
Earlier that day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated Tarique Rahman and the BNP leadership on their election success.
