Kolkata, April 21 (NationPress) The Governor of West Bengal, C.V. Ananda Bose, was admitted to the hospital on Monday afternoon after doctors, during his routine health examination, discovered some cardiac blockage. He is currently receiving treatment at Command Hospital located in South Kolkata. Following the news, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visited him to check on his condition.

As per sources from Raj Bhavan, the Governor had gone to the hospital for a regular check-up when the medical team identified the blockage and opted to admit him to ensure his health was not compromised.

Upon receiving the update, Chief Minister Banerjee hurried to Command Hospital to inquire about the Governor’s health. “I came to check on the Governor after learning of his admission. I am now heading to Midnapore and will return to Kolkata tomorrow after fulfilling my prior engagements in the district,” she stated after her visit.

The Governor had just returned to Kolkata on Saturday night following a two-day visit to the Murshidabad district, which had experienced significant unrest due to communal violence earlier this month, triggered by protests against the Waqf (Amendment) Act.

During his tour, he also inspected a temporary relief camp in the nearby Malda district, housing those displaced by the violence. The Governor expressed his intention to send a comprehensive report of his observations to the Union government and to discuss the situation with the Chief Minister.

He highlighted the demands from local residents of Murshidabad for establishing permanent Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) camps in areas affected by unrest.

On Sunday evening, the Governor met with a delegation from the National Commission of Women (NCW), including its Chairperson, discussing the situation in Murshidabad. He assured the delegation of his commitment to ensuring the safety of women and children in the district.
