Bengaluru, Oct 22 (NationPress) A 36-year-old woman has lodged a rape accusation against D.J. Halli Police Inspector H.B. Sunil on Wednesday with Karnataka DGP and IGP M.A. Saleem, pursuing legal action against him. The woman, who is from a minority community, claims that Inspector Sunil perpetrated the act after promising to marry her.
The complainant has also asserted that the accused has been issuing threats to her life and blackmailing her with private videos.
In a statement to the media, the victim remarked, “I had visited the D.J. Halli police station in Bengaluru one-and-a-half years ago. Inspector Sunil handled my complaint and guaranteed that I would recover my money soon. He also updated Assistant Sub-Inspector Prakash about the situation. I found it challenging to communicate with officer Prakash, so I asked the Inspector to assign me another officer. He agreed, and we eventually developed a close relationship.”
“Our communication evolved into exchanging messages and friendly conversations, during which he inquired about my background. I mentioned that I had been in love many years ago, but after that breakup, I had not considered marriage,” she recounted.
The victim further stated, “He assured me of a registered marriage and encouraged me to search for a house in the police station vicinity. A month into our acquaintance, he mentioned that his wife was away and invited me to his residence. Upon arriving, he had prepared alcohol and a small gathering. He insisted I not seek another partner, asserting that we would be together, which turned out to be deceitful.”
In her complaint, she noted, “During our initial meeting, he obtained my personal number. The next day, he saw my phone status and sent me a kind message. I responded with a ‘thank you.’ Following that, he persistently messaged me. Even though I hesitated, I eventually replied. He began to invite me for drinks and parties, sending me his home location again under the pretext that his wife was away for 10 days. I took a cab to his place.”
“He pressured me to drink, led me to his bedroom, and engaged in physical relations with me. Around 5 a.m., he arranged a cab for me to return home. Later, in February, Sunil requested I meet him at a hotel opposite Manyata Tech Park. I arrived by auto. Inside the room, he made me drink alcohol and had physical relations with me again, all while wearing his police uniform,” she alleged.
“As I required his assistance with my complaint, I complied with his requests. He would message me daily and initiate video calls,” she added.
“During this time, he promised to establish a beauty salon in my name, purchase a flat valued between Rs 50 to 60 lakh, and marry me. He later traveled to Belagavi for duty but continued to contact me via calls, texts, and video chats. After his return, he invited me to his flat on the 14th floor,” she recounted.
“Eventually, I reminded him of his unfulfilled promises. He neither married me nor bought a flat or opened a salon for me. Instead, he exploited me at will. The accused has issued threats against my life if I disclose this matter,” she stated in her complaint.
The victim has also included screenshots of conversations exchanged with the accused Inspector.
