Patna, Sep 16 (NationPress) Following allegations from Opposition Leader Tejashwi Yadav that Bihar's Urban Development Minister Jibesh Kumar Mishra was involved in an assault on a YouTuber and also engaged in the distribution of counterfeit medicines, Mishra countered by demanding an apology or he would pursue legal action.
During a press briefing in Darbhanga on Monday, Mishra vehemently refuted the accusations, asserting his innocence.
He indicated intentions to file a defamation lawsuit against Yadav in the coming days.
“Tejashwi Yadav has labeled me a purveyor of fake drugs. I will issue him a notice and file a defamation suit in two to three days,” Mishra declared.
Additionally, Mishra claimed there was a conspiracy against him, presenting a photograph of Dr Maskur Ahmed Rahmani, a candidate from the 2020 Jaale Assembly election, asserting that Rahmani's associates had targeted him.
“By God’s grace, I was unharmed last night,” Kumar stated.
He recounted that the incident occurred while he was returning from a private event, accompanied by his escort vehicle and SHO.
“A thorough investigation will take place. If it’s proven that I am guilty, I am prepared to accept the consequences,” he emphasized.
Turning his frustrations towards Tejashwi Yadav, Mishra remarked, “With the same audacity he displayed in Singhwada, he should visit Kanti (Muzaffarpur) and express condolences regarding the case against Israel Mansuri and apologize to Champa Vishwas' family.”
He further reminded Yadav of a past incident involving RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, where he allegedly confronted a national journalist, urging Yadav to react similarly.
Bihar's Urban Development Minister Jibesh Kumar Mishra has found himself at the center of controversy following accusations that he assaulted YouTuber Dilip Kumar Sahani in Darbhanga on Sunday night.
Tejashwi Yadav has called for stringent government action, claiming that the minister's actions are unbecoming of his official role.
He also accused the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government of protecting corrupt ministers.
This incident has reignited the political conflict between the ruling NDA and the RJD-led opposition in Bihar, with Tejashwi Yadav seeking accountability while Jibesh Kumar portrays the situation as a political conspiracy against him.
