Patna, Sep 15 (NationPress) The Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, vehemently criticized the NDA government on Monday, accusing Urban Development Minister Jivesh Mishra of physically assaulting and verbally abusing a YouTuber who dared to confront him about the deplorable road conditions in his area.
During a press conference in Patna, Tejashwi Yadav showcased a video of the purported attack, asserting that the victim was a journalist belonging to a marginalized community, targeted for raising questions of public significance.
“When a journalist from a backward class community highlighted the issue of the crumbling road, Minister Jivesh Mishra brutally assaulted him under the cover of darkness and insulted his mother and sister,” Tejashwi claimed.
After the press conference, Tejashwi hurried to Darbhanga, where he met the injured YouTuber. He then accompanied the victim to the Singhwada police station, insisting on the filing of an FIR against Minister Mishra.
He charged the local police with procrastination due to political influences.
The RJD leader placed the blame squarely on the government for protecting Mishra.
“If a Minister can strike a journalist for asking questions, what does that mean for the average citizen in Bihar?” Tejashwi questioned.
He went on to allege that Jivesh Mishra had a prior conviction in a fake medicines scandal and accused him of jeopardizing public safety.
Labeling Mishra as a stain on Bihar, he wondered why such an individual continues to hold ministerial power.
Pointing fingers at the NDA government for enabling lawlessness, Tejashwi remarked, “This incident illustrates that utter chaos reigns in Bihar. If attacks on journalists aren’t indicative of Jungle Raj, then what is? Criminals are now ministers. The confidence of wrongdoers is soaring under this corrupt NDA administration.”
He also drew a comparison to the Uttar Pradesh wrestling scandal, insinuating that the BJP is endorsing individuals like Jivesh Mishra despite their dubious backgrounds.
As the state approaches assembly elections later this year, the RJD leader framed this situation as a crucial test of accountability for the Chief Minister.
“We will persist in our pursuit of justice. We have numerous videos as proof. The culpable Minister must be held accountable,” he asserted.
