Patna, Oct 13 (NationPress) In light of the Delhi court's ruling to press charges against RJD President Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family in the IRCTC hotel scam case, LJP (Ram Vilas) MP Shambhavi Choudhary declared this as "a significant triumph against those who have plunged Bihar into darkness."
The Rouse Avenue Court's decision has initiated a trial under Sections 420 (cheating) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code, along with relevant provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, as the defendants maintained their innocence.
In a conversation with IANS, Choudhary stated, "The truth always prevails. Satyamev Jayate. Those who have misled the people of Bihar will eventually face justice, signifying a monumental victory against those who have brought darkness to Bihar. The offenders will have to answer for their actions over time."
Addressing recent social media comments from Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) leader Jitan Ram Manjhi and Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) President Upendra Kushwaha regarding the NDA's seat-sharing for the Bihar Assembly elections, she remarked, "All is well within the NDA. When discussions on seat-sharing occur, the top leaders of the alliance convene and make collective decisions. I believe there is no cause for dissatisfaction regarding the allocations. Any discontent will be resolved in due time."
Earlier in the day, Manjhi expressed his contentment with the NDA's seat-sharing arrangement for the forthcoming Bihar Assembly elections, despite his party receiving significantly fewer seats than requested.
Reflecting on his experiences during the Lok Sabha elections, Manjhi noted, "I am accustomed to being deprived of things."
This statement emerged a day after the ruling NDA, which includes HAM, publicized its seat-sharing plan for the 243-member Bihar Assembly.
According to the agreement, HAM was allocated six seats, which is considerably less than Manjhi's initial demand.
Initially, he requested 40 seats for the 2025 elections but eventually reduced his demand to 15. However, the alliance ultimately granted only six seats to his party.
Manjhi stated, "During the parliamentary elections, we were promised two Lok Sabha seats and one Rajya Sabha seat, but we received only one. We had requested at least eight seats for recognition as a registered party. However, one cannot guarantee that securing eight seats guarantees victory. Hence, we sought at least 15 seats, but only six were allocated. Still, we are content."
RLM's national chief Upendra Kushwaha also commented that the party's allocation of six seats for the upcoming Bihar elections might disappoint many.
Kushwaha remarked that this decision "will sadden thousands and millions of individuals," including colleagues eager to contest.
In a post on X on Sunday, he expressed, "I seek your forgiveness. The number of seats could not meet your expectations.
"I apologize to all of you. The number of seats hasn’t fulfilled your expectations. I understand that this decision will disappoint many, including colleagues who aspired to be candidates for our party. Today, many homes might not have cooked meals. Nevertheless, I trust you will comprehend the limitations faced by both me and the party," he added.
