BJP Accuses Kejriwal of Deceiving Women, Similar to Punjab Tactics

New Delhi, Dec 12 (NationPress) Targeting the AAP administration over its latest promise of financial support to women, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva stated on Thursday that prior to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, former Delhi Chief Minister and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal gathered forms from women in the national capital, pledging a grant of Rs 1,000, yet no funds have been released to date.
Sachdeva inquired why the AAP government in Punjab, which assured the Mahila Samman Rashi before the Assembly elections, has not delivered even after holding power for two years.
The State BJP Chief accused Kejriwal of employing the same misleading strategies with another election on the horizon, labeling it a tactic to deceive women with false promises.
Sachdeva questioned the reason behind the delay of 10 months for Cabinet approval after initially announcing the women's grant back in February.
Highlighting the achievements of the BJP, the State BJP Chief asserted that the public has faith only in the assurances provided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"We have effectively rolled out the Women's Honour Grant in Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Haryana, even initiating disbursements in Maharashtra prior to elections," he stated.
Sachdeva also accused Kejriwal of being a "mastermind" of corruption, claiming he prioritizes constructing opulent residences and raising electricity tariffs while disregarding essential public services like roads, sewage, and clean drinking water.
He asserted that Kejriwal would likely shift the blame to Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena for the delays in providing funds to women, similar to how he did regarding the delayed reengagement of bus marshals.
Sachdeva alleged that Kejriwal deliberately creates legal obstacles to deflect blame and evade responsibility.
Regarding the health insurance initiative, the State BJP Chief remarked that the "anti-public" nature of Kejriwal and Chief Minister Atishi was revealed once again when the Delhi government failed to respond in court concerning the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
He noted that BJP MPs have petitioned the Delhi High Court to implement the Ayushman Bharat scheme in Delhi.
During the last court session, the bench provided the Delhi government another opportunity to present its argument, but it once again failed to respond.
Sachdeva also met with Municipal Corporation of Delhi Commissioner Ashwani Kumar to discuss and advocate for the demand of Laghu Udyog Bharati to eliminate the need for factory licenses for industries operating in various industrial zones of Delhi.
During this meeting, the Delhi BJP Chief stressed that Section 416 of the Municipal Corporation Act has become obsolete.
He explained that this section was instituted when Delhi lacked government-regulated industrial areas, whereas today it features both government-developed and privately authorized industrial zones.
