New Delhi, March 9 (NationPress) Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva stated on Sunday that reports from Punjab suggest that following the announcement of Rs 2,500 for women in Delhi, Punjab voters are echoing a similar demand.

Leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are struggling to address the requests of women in Punjab, resorting to irrational remarks fueled by political frustration, according to Sachdeva.

Responding to AAP leader and former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi's criticisms concerning the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana launched on Saturday, Sachdeva remarked that women in Punjab are now questioning when the Arvind Kejriwal-Bhagwant Mann administration will commence the promised women's financial aid in the state.

He emphasized that for over 37 months, the AAP has misled women in Punjab regarding the women's allowance, and women across the nation are now aware of the party's double standards.

Sachdeva commended Delhi CM Rekha Gupta for establishing a committee to create registration protocols for the distribution of honorarium under the Mahila Samridhi Yojana.

Additionally, she allocated Rs 5,100 crore in the 2025-26 budget for Delhi.

Sachdeva indicated that this provision of Rs 5,100 crore is a clear indication that the BJP government will soon commence the distribution of honorariums to marginalized women and fulfill Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s promise.

The Delhi BJP President asserted that Atishi's statements have incensed the public, who believe it is disgraceful that a party which misled Delhi women is now questioning the BJP government's dedication.

Sachdeva remarked that the party does not intend to politicize the issue of women's honorarium; however, if the AAP chooses to do so, Kejriwal and Mann must clarify why, after 37 months in Punjab's governance, the women's honorarium of Rs 1,000 is still unimplemented in the agricultural state.

Atishi must respond whether Kejriwal’s claims of financial support for women in Punjab in 2021 and in the 2024 Delhi budget were merely false election pledges, questioned Sachdeva.
