New Delhi, March 28 (NationPress) The Delhi BJP President, Virendra Sachdeva, criticized the leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday for their continued engagement in a politics of deceit, particularly concerning the Rs 2,500 scheme aimed at women, even after their defeat in the Assembly elections.
Sachdeva noted that the Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly, Atishi, along with other AAP representatives, persistently mislead the public by making unfounded claims about the women’s honorarium issue on a daily basis.
“Ever since the election defeat, Atishi and fellow AAP leaders have been vocal about the Rs 2,500 Mahila Samridhi Yojana. When the Delhi government included funding for this initiative in the 2025-26 Budget, Atishi diverted attention to the pre-budget economic survey,” he stated.
Sachdeva also mentioned that Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was unable to present the pre-budget economic survey due to the prior Delhi government's negligence, as the Arvind Kejriwal-led administration avoided departmental audits to conceal its corruption.
The BJP President asserted that women in Delhi have faith in the BJP leadership's commitments concerning the Mahila Samridhi Yojana and the distribution of subsidized LPG cylinders.
“They are aware that, adhering to all regulations, these advantages will start to be delivered to them within the financial year 2025-26,” he added.
Sachdeva’s remarks coincided with Delhi Minister Parvesh Verma assuring the Assembly that a notification regarding the Mahila Samridhi Yojana will be issued shortly.
Minister Verma confirmed that the matter is currently with a four-member panel, with the file reaching the relevant authority, and a notification on the scheme is anticipated very soon.
“Registration for the scheme will commence in all 70 Assembly constituencies once the scheme's rules are established,” Verma noted, emphasizing that CM Gupta had approved Rs 5,100 crore for the scheme in the Budget.
Previously, Atishi, along with several AAP legislators who were expelled from the Assembly, informed reporters that the Opposition MLAs were removed for inquiring about the Rs 2,500 monthly assistance for women in Delhi.
“The women of Delhi have been deceived by the BJP as the Rs 2,500 has yet to arrive in their bank accounts. When our legislator sought a timeline for implementing the scheme, our members were expelled from the House one after another,” she expressed.
