New Delhi, Jan 16 (NationPress) The BJP has allocated two Assembly seats - Burari and Deoli - to its NDA partners, Janata Dal (United) and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), in preparation for the upcoming election on February 5. This announcement completes their list of all 70 candidates just a day before the final nomination deadline.

Earlier today, the BJP released its fourth list of candidates, which included nine individuals, bringing the total number of candidates declared to 68.

As of the time of this report, approximately 729 candidates had submitted their nominations for the election, according to an aide to Delhi’s Chief Electoral Officer.

Among those who filed their papers on the day before the deadline were 22 BJP candidates.

BJP Delhi President Virendra Sachdeva expressed strong optimism regarding their electoral prospects.

He noted a noticeable wave of change throughout the city, with support emerging from various demographics including slum residents, auto drivers, women, and youth. The prevailing sentiment is clear: “We will no longer tolerate this, we will bring about a change.”

Sachdeva emphasized, “On February 8, a double-engine government will liberate Delhi from pollution. People will now reject the broom and embrace the lotus.”

BJP’s Delhi election in charge Baijayant Panda remarked, “The Delhi state government has been absent for the past 10 years in terms of development. All major initiatives such as the Pragati Maidan Tunnel, PM Museum, Kartavya Path, and Eastern-Western Peripheral highways have been executed by the Central government.”

He added, “The public is weary of the corruption and incompetence of the Arvind Kejriwal government. Today’s overwhelming support for BJP candidates is evidence of this frustration.”

In the earlier announcement of its fourth candidate list, the BJP nominated advocate Shikha Rai, the first woman chairperson of the former South Delhi Municipal Corporation’s Standing Committee, to contest against AAP government’s Transport Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj from the Greater Kailash (GK) constituency.

Anil Vashisth will compete against Environment Minister Gopal Rai in the Babarpur constituency in northeast Delhi.

According to the latest list, the BJP has nominated Ravinder Kumar from the Bawana reserved seat, Poonam Sharma from Wazirpur, Bhuvan Tanwar from Delhi Cantonment, Chandan Kumar Choudhary from Sangam Vihar, and Ravikant Ujjain from Trilokpuri (SC). The party also endorsed Sanjay Goyal for Shahdara and Praveen Nimesh from Gokalpur (SC).
