Did Delhi BJP Chief Sachdeva Criticize AAP's Politics Over Janakpuri Incident?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Feb 8 (NationPress) Following the unfortunate Janakpuri incident, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva expressed that the loss of a family member in any tragic event is profoundly sorrowful, emphasizing that it is the responsibility of the state government to support the grieving family.
However, he accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of engaging in petty politics regarding this sorrowful incident.
Sachdeva affirmed that the BJP-led Delhi government is committed to serving the public, and in line with this ethos, during a modest ceremony, BJP President Nitin Nabin unveiled 500 new e-buses for the citizens.
He remarked that the comments made by Delhi AAP President Saurabh Bharadwaj after the bus dedication ceremony lacked genuine sympathy for the Janakpuri accident, instead highlighting his party's political frustration, especially since AAP failed to introduce a single e-bus during its 11 years in power.
The Delhi BJP President condemned the issuance of such statements from Lutyens' Delhi, exploiting a family's tragedy to mask electoral frustrations, calling it both condemnable and an unforgivable offense.
“If AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj truly cared for the victim's family from the Janakpuri incident, he would have at least taken the time to meet them,” he added.
Furthermore, Sachdeva remarked, “We understand the emotional turmoil faced by AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Saurabh Bharadwaj today, February 8, a date that marks the Assembly election results from the previous year. However, they must acknowledge that no matter how many crocodile tears they shed for the families impacted by accidents, the people of Delhi have witnessed the troubling chapter of their previous AAP administration and will not easily forgive them.”
Sachdeva highlighted that the family of Kamal Dhyani, who was killed in the Janakpuri incident, is affiliated with the BJP, and our Palam MLA Kuldeep Solanki has been supporting the family for three days.
Earlier on Sunday, Delhi Minister Ashish Sood also visited the family of the deceased, while AAP leader Bharadwaj remained in Lutyens' Delhi, merely issuing statements and expressing false sympathies.
In a social media response, Delhi BJP Spokesperson Praveen Shankar commented on AAP leaders' protest antics after visiting the Janakpuri site, stating: “Mr. Saurabh Bharadwaj, the entire Delhi is aware that your protest with a mere 20–25 individuals was not an expression of condolences for the late Kamal Dhyani but rather a desperate attempt to stay relevant on February 8.”
“No matter how much theatrics you perform, the eclipse that fell on February 8, 2025, will not dissipate from your political career,” Kapoor remarked, referencing the ousting of the AAP government in Delhi after the Assembly elections favored the BJP on this day last year.
