Delhi BJP President Critiques AAP's Saurabh Bharadwaj Over Fire Tragedy in Uttam Nagar
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, March 20 (NationPress) The President of Delhi BJP, Virendra Sachdeva, vehemently criticized the political theatrics and manipulation showcased by the Aam Aadmi Party's Delhi Convener, Saurabh Bharadwaj, in the wake of the devastating fire incident in Uttam Nagar that claimed lives.
Sachdeva pointed out that Bharadwaj's incitement of unrest during a condolence gathering on Thursday, followed by a dramatic press conference on Friday where he donned a shroud and used a funeral bier, reveals a lack of sincere grief for the victims of the deadly blaze.
“He appears to view this tragedy merely as a chance to remain in the media spotlight,” stated the BJP leader.
Furthermore, Sachdeva mentioned that the Delhi government has initiated a magisterial inquiry into the fire incident in Palam and the subsequent relief efforts.
This inquiry aims to uncover not only the fundamental causes of the fire but also to assess any negligence that may have occurred on the part of the Fire Brigade during response operations.
He emphasized that while it is crucial to address the shortcomings in the fire brigade's infrastructure, it is equally important to investigate whether the fire was ignited by a significant amount of flammable materials stored in the building.
Sachdeva remarked that it is widely acknowledged in Palam that a considerable quantity of combustible materials was indeed stored on the ground floor of the building affected by the fire.
He challenged Bharadwaj to confirm whether he recognizes the presence of these flammable materials within the structure that ignited.
Additionally, Sachdeva confronted Bharadwaj, who is currently criticizing the fire brigade's infrastructure, to explain his failure to take moral accountability and resign as Health Minister following a fire at an illegal hospital in Vivek Vihar that resulted in the tragic deaths of seven children on May 24, 2024.
He also questioned why Bharadwaj remains silent regarding the dangerous materials stored in the Palam residential building.
