New Delhi, Aug 17 (NationPress) Senior BJP figure and former Union Minister Shahnawaz Hussain dismissed the collaborative yatra of Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in Bihar as a “failed exercise” on Sunday, asserting it would not influence the forthcoming Assembly elections.
During a conversation with IANS in Patna, Hussain accused the two opposition entities of “deceiving the people of Bihar” through such displays. “The Congress and RJD are creating confusion in the minds of Bihari voters, but 'inke baaton me koi nahi aayega (no one will fall for their words)'. This yatra is destined to fail,” he remarked.
He maintained that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would approach the elections with “full strength” and achieve a decisive victory.
“The Mahagathbandhan will suffer a significant defeat in Bihar. When they do, they will blame the Election Commission, which is why they're already constructing a narrative against the ECI,” he noted.
Hussain further articulated that wherever the opposition’s yatra traverses, the NDA would “also go and expose their lies before the people.”
He criticized the Congress and RJD for lacking vision for Bihar’s growth and relying solely on rhetoric. “Bihar’s people are politically aware. They will not be swayed by these gimmicks,” Hussain commented.
“The NDA will connect with every voter and seek their endorsement for ongoing development. The opposition’s yatra will have no effect,” he concluded.
It is significant to highlight that the Congress and RJD are set to kick off their joint yatra in Bihar on Sunday, viewed as a demonstration of unity and an effort to consolidate opposition factions ahead of the critical Bihar Assembly elections. Conversely, the BJP aims to counter this initiative by portraying it as a desperate maneuver by parties that have “lost ground” in the state.
