New Delhi, Sep 20 (NationPress) Senior BJP figure Syed Shahnawaz Hussain criticized the ongoing 'Bihar Adhikar Yatra' led by Tejashwi Yadav on Saturday, labeling it a mere vote-seeking initiative that has not sparked genuine public engagement.
“Both Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav are conducting their yatras solely for electoral gain, but their efforts are falling flat. Only those leaders chasing tickets are apparent, while the general populace seems to have withdrawn,” Hussain remarked, condemning the lack of authentic mass participation.
In a further critique from the NDA, JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar also challenged Tejashwi's authenticity regarding employment and land ownership issues.
“While Tejashwi Yadav is on a 'Bihar Adhikar Yatra' discussing job creation, how has he maintained ownership of land given in exchange for those jobs?” he inquired.
In a pointed statement, Kumar referred to the Pitru Paksha, a period dedicated to honoring ancestors in Hindu culture, to morally question Tejashwi. “If your father made a misstep during your childhood, you should give that land to the most backward, Dalits, minorities, and the landless,” he stated.
Simultaneously, the RJD is portraying the 'Bihar Adhikar Yatra', which kicked off on September 16, as a campaign centered on essential governance topics like unemployment, inflation, migration, corruption, law enforcement, and industrial stagnation in the state.
Although initially aligned with Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' focusing on alleged voter list manipulation under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process, Tejashwi's current campaign has moved away from those discussions. His speeches now prioritize job creation and alleged governance shortcomings during the NDA's rule.
Political analysts interpret this change as Tejashwi's effort to solidify his leadership role within the Opposition coalition in Bihar, especially as the Lok Sabha elections approach.
