Hyderabad, May 29 (NationPress) Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Telangana MLA, Raja Singh, made a striking claim on Thursday, asserting that a faction of BJP leaders is poised to collaborate with the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) for a "substantial package".
Raja Singh remarked that BRS MLC K. Kavitha was truthful during her informal interactions with the press.
"If BJP leaders receive a significant package, they will align with the BRS," he stated.
He alleged that the BRS determines the candidates of the BJP and the constituencies in which they should contest. This has previously led to setbacks for the BJP.
Representing the Goshamahal constituency in Hyderabad, Raja Singh claimed that the BJP leaders are the reason the party has failed to secure power in Telangana.
He mentioned that party officials and members are reluctant to voice their opinions out of fear of being suspended.
The controversial MLA has been criticizing a segment of BJP leaders for several months. In March, he accused certain leaders within his party of conspiring to imprison him, alleging they directed police to file cases against him under the Preventive Detention Act.
Previously, Raja Singh expressed dissatisfaction regarding the party's choice for the state President and the leader of the legislature party.
His recent comments followed Kavitha's assertion that there was an attempt to hand over the BRS to the BJP.
The BRS MLC stated that while she was in jail related to the Delhi excise policy case, a merger proposal between the BRS and BJP had surfaced, which she vehemently opposed.
She further claimed that efforts for this merger are being orchestrated through Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Highlighting the presence of covert agents within the BRS, she urged for their identification and removal from the party.
