Agartala, Feb 17 (NationPress) Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha emphasized on Tuesday that politics rooted in ethnicity and communalism is neither beneficial nor productive, insisting that governance should prioritize development and unity.
While speaking at a public gathering organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Demdum, located in the Unakoti district, the Chief Minister condemned attempts to mislead citizens with demands like 'Tipraland' and 'Greater Tipraland'.
He remarked that certain political factions are trying to confuse innocent 'Janajati' (tribal) individuals by playing on sensitive ethnic feelings.
"Our Prime Minister is tirelessly working for the welfare of every citizen, taking into account the interests of all societal segments," CM Saha stated.
During the event, the Chief Minister welcomed 215 voters from 57 families who decided to join the BJP.
He noted that the state government is making persistent efforts to promote the development of Kokborok and other minority languages.
"Our administration is dedicated to transparency and effective governance. We aim for the socio-economic growth of all community segments to build a better Tripura," he added.
Welcoming the new members to the BJP, the Chief Minister remarked that their choice signifies trust in the party and in Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"The substantial presence of Janajati brothers and sisters today indicates their confidence in the BJP and the Prime Minister's vision of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas'," he added.
Chief Minister Saha stated that Prime Minister Modi has redefined the political landscape in India, showcasing that governance can be achieved without corruption.
"Our Tripura government is also focused on ensuring transparency while empowering tribal communities and promoting inclusive growth," he said.
He highlighted that significant budget allocations have been designated for the welfare of the Janajati community, reaffirming the state government's resolve to protect their culture and traditions.
