Jaipur, Dec 4 (NationPress) An alarming email, which threatened a bomb explosion at Ajmer Dargah and the Collectorate, caused widespread panic in the city on Thursday.
Authorities, including police, CID, and intelligence units, were swiftly mobilized, leading to the evacuation of both sites as a safety measure.
Superintendent of Police Vandita Rana stated, "An email was received at the Collectorate alleging that explosives had been placed at both the Ajmer Dargah and the Collectorate. In response to the message, all relevant departments were activated. The Collectorate has undergone a meticulous search, and the Dargah has been cleared. No suspicious items have been uncovered thus far."
Access to the Ajmer Dargah has been entirely restricted.
Multiple entry points have been sealed off, and security measures such as metal detectors and dog units are being employed to inspect every area of the premises. A substantial presence of security personnel has been established.
Officers from nine police stations, alongside teams from four additional police stations and CID, are actively involved in the operation.
Rural Additional SP Deepak Sharma and CO Shivam Joshi are overseeing the search efforts.
Within the Collectorate complex, government staff and visitors were safely evacuated while police continued their inspections utilizing handheld scanners, metal detectors, and surveillance technology.
Officials are addressing the threat with the utmost seriousness and have heightened security in the surrounding areas.
Police sources indicate that the source and credibility of the email are currently under investigation.
Just a day prior, the Jaipur Collectorate also faced a bomb threat, which led to a comprehensive inspection of the premises.
However, that threat was ultimately deemed a hoax.
Authorities reported that the threat was directed at the District Collector's Court Office. Following the alert, personnel from the Bani Park police station, the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), along with dog and bomb disposal units, rushed to the scene and examined the Collectorate's premises.
Fortunately, the police and administration expressed relief when no suspicious items were identified.
Bani Park police officer Manoj Kumar confirmed that a detailed search was executed across all rooms and corners of the Collectorate.
"The bomb squad and dog squad conducted thorough searches. However, no suspicious items were found. The Collectorate was not evacuated during this investigation," he noted.
