Chill in the South: Temperatures Plunge to Single Digits in Telangana

Hyderabad, Dec 12 (NationPress) Cold wave conditions have been observed across various regions of Telangana, with minimum temperatures dipping to single digits in at least six districts on Thursday.

The state's average minimum temperature was recorded at 14.3 degrees Celsius, which is 2.7 degrees lower than the normal levels.

Among the 33 districts, Adilabad emerged as the coldest, with an average temperature of 9.3 degrees Celsius. The coldest location in the state was found to be Bela in Adilabad district, which experienced a minimum temperature of 7 degrees Celsius, as reported by meteorologists from the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS).

The lowest temperature recorded in Sirpur (U) within Kumuram Bheem Asifabad district was 7.3 degrees Celsius, while Pembi in Nirmal district saw temperatures of 8.3 degrees Celsius.

Single-digit minimum temperatures were also noted in parts of Medak, Sangareddy, and Jagtial districts.

Shivampet in Medak recorded a minimum of 9.4 degrees Celsius, Kohir in Sangareddy experienced 9.5 degrees Celsius, and the coldest in Jagtial was 9.7 degrees Celsius at Mallapur.

In Vikarabad district, the mercury fell to 10 degrees Celsius.

Eight districts reported minimum temperatures ranging from 10 to 11 degrees.

Maredpally, located in the state capital Hyderabad, noted a minimum temperature of 12.7 degrees.

The average minimum temperature in Hyderabad stood at 17.3 degrees.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted dry weather for Telangana over the next three days.

As per the Hyderabad Meteorological Centre, low-level winds are predominantly blowing from the north and northeast.

Morning hours may experience misty or hazy conditions in isolated areas of Telangana, with minimum temperatures expected to be 2 to 4 degrees below normal.

The Met Centre has indicated in a bulletin that cold winds are likely to continue for the next three days in certain areas of North Telangana.

Cold wave conditions are expected to persist in isolated pockets of Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, and Nirmal districts until December 15, with a yellow warning issued by the IMD.
