Bhopal, Sep 11 (NationPress) On Thursday, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav awarded two-wheelers to the top-performing students of Class 12 from government schools in Madhya Pradesh. This year, a total of 7,832 students from various districts, who excelled in the Class 12 examinations for the academic year 2024-25, will receive these rewards under the scheme.

During the event held in Bhopal, the Chief Minister took a brief ride as a pillion passenger on a two-wheeler that was driven by a girl student named Harshita Yadav.

More than a dozen students, including Harshita, were presented with their scooties directly by the Chief Minister.

Several state ministers also attended the ceremony.

In his address, he encouraged students to maintain their focus on academics and assured them of the government's full support.

“Students in government schools of Madhya Pradesh should not be concerned. Just focus on your studies and achieve your aspirations. The state government will extend all possible assistance. In addition to scooties and laptops, financial aid will also be available for those pursuing education abroad,” he stated.

He also motivated students to aim for becoming job creators rather than mere job seekers, thus bringing pride to their families and the state.

“This scooty symbolizes recognition for students’ abilities and serves as encouragement to advance in life,” he remarked.

The Free e-Scooty/ICES Scheme, which facilitates these rewards, has been in effect since the academic session 2022–23.

Earlier this year in February, 7,900 meritorious students from government schools were also awarded free scooties.

Students qualify for this initiative if they have studied as regular candidates in government higher secondary schools overseen by the School Education Department or the Tribal Affairs Department and have topped their Class 12 board examinations across any stream.

During this event, CM Yadav also executed a Direct Benefit Transfer of Rs 61 crore to the bank accounts of 20,37,439 girls from Classes 7 to 12 as part of the sanitation and hygiene initiative under ‘Samagra Shiksha’.

Under this initiative, girl students in government schools will receive Rs 300 annually to aid in personal health and hygiene.
